Bright Celebrations with Garden and Spring Wedding Favors
Spring is a popular time to get married, and deservedly so. The sun is shining, flowers are blooming, and there’s a feeling of newness to everything. What better time to strike out on a new adventure with the one you love?
Spring weddings are a good choice for people wishing to avoid the summer rush–summer being the busiest time for weddings–or for those just wishing to avoid the summer heat! If you’re planning a spring wedding this year, you have probably already chosen your location, picked out a cake, and sent the invitations. But one thing you may not have settled on yet is the wedding favors you will send home with your guests. This guide will provide some creative ideas for a variety of spring wedding favors and garden wedding favors to suit almost any budget.
There are a few questions you should ask yourself before you start looking for wedding favors. Some of these questions include: How many people will be attending? This will affect how much you will be able to spend on each person’s favors. How much do you want to spend on all the favors combined? It’s a good idea to pick a number ahead of time and really try to stick to it; otherwise you might end up spending much more than you wanted to. Do you want to give out one more expensive gift, or a few smaller gifts? Again, this is important to decide on ahead of time if you want to stay on budget. How important is the packaging/ presentation of the favors? Sometimes the gift bag or box can be almost as expensive as the gift itself, so try to plan ahead for that. Will the favors have a particular theme? Even if you don’t have a set theme, you might want to opt for something springy or garden-themed to suit the season. (Think flowers, butterflies, ladybugs, etc.)
The important thing in choosing garden wedding favors is to think about what you would like your guests to literally take away from your happy event. Perhaps imagine what you yourself would want to bring home. A safe choice like chocolate could make almost everyone happy, or something unique to your theme would really help them remember the day. A mixture of both would be a good plan for more “unique” wedding themes; if you’re getting married on an airplane, you might choose a flight-themed gift as well as something delicious. Other spring wedding favors might focus on the particular people involved, such as miniature space shuttles for a wedding of astronauts, or pens if the bride or groom is a writer.
Remember, if you don’t find exactly what you’re looking for and you have some time to spare before the big day, you can always take a look at your local craft store for inspiration. You may be able to put together a gift or custom wrapping for a fraction of the price (and no shipping costs!) Plus, your guests are certain to appreciate the personal touch. It could even be something as simple as hand-stamping a pretty design on a personalized card or tucking a few pretty dried or fabric flowers in with the gifts.
Thanks to modern movements, the internet has become a fantastic method of finding decorations and themes to suit even the pickiest of brides. But the wedding shop or bridal expo is still a tremendous source for most wedding planners. Whether the bride and groom are looking for spring wedding favors or their decorations, themed wedding sections seem to be almost mandatory. And as the audience to such an event, it is far more thrilling to attend such a wedding then to attend a simple as-is church wedding. Though both are emotional, wonderful occasions, themed weddings remain the most fun and exciting.
