Many people find Christmas the most traumatic time of the year. Everyone has expectations and when these are not met there are ripples of guilt across friends and family. As well as dealing with this there is the difficulty of buying presents.

Sometimes it can be difficult to find something which is truly personal – but Christmas underwear will usually be a great success. If you are going this route, then more important than anything is to get the size right!

Buying Christmas underwear is full of pitfalls. Below I have detailed out what I believe to be the most disastrous. Read on the make sure that your gift is a success.

1. How to make a present special – If you want to be sure that your gift is special then make sure that it is better than anything the recipient would usually buy for themselves. Multiple items in packs are definitely out. A special present is not necessarily an expensive one, but it must be a well thought out one.

2. Be realistic – However much you may want to create ’special’ don’t go over the top as the receiver of the present may feel uncomfortable. You have to choose a gift which they feel comfortable receiving.

Remember that you are giving this present and ultimately it is for them and not for you, so don’t just choose what will look good, buy as much for their personality as for their body.

3. Advice is important – If you are not sure then get advice! If you are in a specialist shop then you will find that the staff should be pretty experienced and will be able to offer plenty of help – they have probably seen and heard it all before.

Remember that Christmas is supposed to be fun, and getting a present for a special person right is great.
