How you could get more Business while Sitting at Traffic Lights

When you’re rushing through the day and the light turns red, what is the first thing you do? Most of society looks around and checks out things like license plates, bumper stickers, and the landmarks around them. Seriously, how many times have you gone home and said, “I saw this bumper sticker today and it said…” This happens all the time and we’re influenced by the little things more than we realize. If you’re a business owner, it’s time to use this to your advantage.

Getting some bumper stickers advertising your business could be a great way to give your business a boost! You could print your website url, business name, or something cute and witty on bumper stickers and put them on your vehicle to get attention when you’re sitting in traffic. When the vehicles around you are stuck in traffic, they might jot down your website. But even if they don’t write it down, chances are they will remember it in the future.

Of course, catching their attention is the key. Your bumper sticker needs to jump out and be seen. Here are some things you should consider to make your bumper sticker eye catching:

* Use Color – Using color on your bumper sticker can help it stand out. Just don’t use an irritating color. You want to elicit a positive reaction.

* Brand It – Be sure to incorporate your logo or other branding on your bumper sticker. You want people to immediately associate the sticker with your specific business. Instant recognition is your goal.

* Put It Where They’ll See It! – Placement is everything. Be sure your bumper sticker is in a visible area. And be sure you don’t have too many other bumper stickers on your vehicle crowding out your message!

* Easy To Read – Make your bumper sticker easy to read. Use a simple large font. Be sure you can see it and read it from a car length away.

*Easy to Remember- Just like the big websites today have “one-word” names (Yahoo, Google, MySpace, etc.), you should keep yours short and clever as well. Doing this will allow people to remember it easier, which in turn will be easy to pass along to others.

Even in a municipality with approximately 200,000 residents, consider how many people would see your bumper sticker even if you just stopped at four stoplights. Every time you’re sitting still-and sometimes even when you’re moving-people will be reading your message. While they may not consciously choose to remember it, chances are it will be there in their subconscious awaiting later recollection.

Later, something may trigger their recall. It could be an advertisement or someone talking. It might be something seemingly unrelated. In any event, when they remember your bumper sticker, you might just land a new customer.
