Baby showers are an American tradition and the practice began in the nineteenth century. The first baby showers took the form of afternoon tea parties. All the family members and female friends of a new mother would go to her and give baby shower gifts right after the birth. The first baby showers were not held during the pregnancy as back then it was regarded as unseemly for women that are pregnant to appear in public. In those days, classic baby gifts were commonly made by hand except for those who are presented by the grandparents, which were silver.
Contemporary baby shower gifts normally take place before the baby is born. Baby gifts should be handmade, which are a relief since most women are now keeping up with jobs and families and do not have much spare time for imaginative pursuits. One thing has always been constant since the practice began in the 19th century. Baby showers will always be about more than presenting the mother and baby with gifts. They are about sharing in the pleasure of the new mother and providing guidance, support and female solidarity. The gifts simply improve a feeling of enjoyment about welcoming a new person in the world.

Clothes
Clothes are a great idea for a baby boy gift. Nonetheless, remember that chances are your friend or loved one will be having a lot of baby boy clothes in smaller sizes. A good gift is to have several baby boy clothes in larger dimensions. Try to get some clothing for six to nine months or nine to twelve months. Make sure that you think about what season it will be once the infant is that specific age though. The one you love will be thrilled to have a few things of clothing which will fit the infant in a couple of months.

Taking home a new born child can be an exciting experience for the family, especially the parents. There will be a new addition to family, which brings both joy and to some extent minor challenges. Apart from the joy and happiness that an infant brings, parents may contend with decisions of buying essential clothing and footwear like baby socks.
An important thing to consider when purchasing baby clothing and foot wear is that the accessories purchased must contribute to the temperature regulation of the baby’s body and their development. Both the baby’s clothing and footwear are important in ensuring that the baby remains warm and comfy.
Reward One – Regulates their body temperature. Baby booties or shoes have proven to be very ineffective in regulating a baby’s temperature. On the other hand, studies have proven that socks for babies are extremely effective in helping baby’s effectively regulate their body temperatures.
In purchasing socks for a baby, one should take special care and attention to the size and length of the socks. This is because if socks do not fit properly, it can be hazardous to the infant. In turn, the perfect purchase of socks for a baby is at least an inch longer than their toes.

Baby showers are a great chance to celebrate the birth of a baby. In a typical baby shower party, you will have food, activities, games, and prizes. You can often see many baby showers take place a few months before the baby is born. To throw a successful party, you need to talk with the mom and understand what she needs.
The main purpose of a party is obvious: to celebrate the pending birth of a child. This celebration is a chance to bring the whole family and relatives together. The baby shower also honors friends and co-workers.
The expectant mother will receive gifts and supplies from guests. These gifts will be used for, and by, the new baby. Before the party, the mother gives a list of what she and her baby need. The guests will then buy gifts based on what the mother needs.
Before you throw out a shower party, you have to consider thy type of the party you want to organize. There are many types, including parties with only women and parties for couples.

Are you wasting your money on baby toys? No Problems, all those toys you purchased to intrigue your small one are not going to waste. It may take a bit for your tiny one to get the point this is what they are to play with, but they’re going to begin to understand.
The kid then starts to develop a desire to hear and see things when they are interacting with something. Even a sense of touch becomes active at this age. If there is a toy that is soft compared against a toy that is hard, the kid will very likely go after the toy that is’s hard because they are able to hit it.
It may take a while for your little one to get it this is what they are to play with, but they are going to begin to understand. As they gain the power to start to be able to move around more on their lonesome, they’ll start experimenting all alone and get into pretty much everything that’s at their level.
A kid is going to need to play with a toy when they are prepared to play with it. There are no real time bounds set to a kid’s curiosity and that’s what it all reduces down to, is curiosity.

Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles are always looking for the right holiday gift – the one thing that the children will absolutely go nuts over.
After 10 years of selling thousands of toys, my advice is to not swing for the fences, but find a gift that the youngsters can play with and enjoy for a long time. Find a present that parents can appreciate and that can keep the kids busy. Here are some ideas:
Magna-Tiles Magna-Tiles are a perennial family favorite. Magna-Tiles are magnetized shapes (squares and triangles) that match together so easily that children can build nearly anything. Magna-Tiles are offered in solid colors and translucent colors. Like blocks, Magna-Tiles tap into a kid’s innate creativity. You will be amazed at how fast children get into these building blocks. Parents tell us they love them as much as the kids do.
Doll Houses Doll houses are always a favourite toy over the holidays. All the kids crowd round the house to participate and have fun. It’s nearly magical.
Plan Toys is well-known for making high-quality wood toys. Each of Plan Toys’ wooden dollhouses can accommodate play with several kids. The dolls and furniture are sized for a child’s tiny hands. Each house has open walls and wide floor space so youngsters will easily reach inside.

Add a bit of light and a few sound effects and watch the fun grow. Your baby can roll, sit and even step a bit when holding your fingers or clinging to the couch. It might be time this year to get a Christmas gift that will really get the party started. Babies love lights. Toys that blink or flash stimulate brain function and really hold your little one’s attention. You probably already have a variety of toys that come equipped with a light show. The addition of a few sounds and strains of music take the fun to another level.
Yet all the lights and sounds in the world are often no match for the simple pleasure of standing and moving. Babies who have reached the cruising stage are not content to sit in one place and rattle the same toy no matter how many lights it has or different sounds it makes. A cruising baby wants action!

Baby showers are happy occasions where the baby’s arrival is to be celebrated. Baby shower invitations are given out about a week or so before the actual date of the baby shower to give guests time to prepare gifts, clothes and their schedule. There are a lot of baby shower invitation ideas that can help parents get their message across with regards to the gender of the baby and the joy that the parents feel about this new addition to the family. Many parents like to use unique baby shower invitation ideas so that the invitation will be remembered.
There are many different themes for a baby shower which can be used also for the baby shower invitation. These themes are usually what dictate the general appearance and ambience of the event. Themes can be anything from a color to an animated character to an animal. Color themes are usually blue for boys and pink for girls. Some other colors for boys are green and brown while girls usually have yellow or lavender. In some cases, the baby shower invitation may be dominantly made up of the color theme to indicate the gender of the soon to come baby. Some colors complement each other and are often used for the entire theme for decorations and the baby shower invitation as well as the giveaways.

If you decide to choose a toy as your baby shower gift, it is important to consider things like simplicity, practicality, how educative the toy is, and its ability to develop the infants senses through different colors and textures. Every year, toys for infants and toddlers are rated using many criteria in order to recognize and award the best, most useful, and most beneficial toys for babies.
This article will feature some of the top-rated infant and toddler toys, and the characteristics that make them great. Remember, there are tons of toys out there that are comparable to the ones that won awards (and might even have more features), which are available for a fraction of the cost. Note the attributes that make them top quality baby toys, and aim for gifts that match or beat these award-winning characteristics.
Some popular toys of this era are those that help babies develop their sense of hearing, touch, and sight. Musical toys are some of the most purchased toys these years, and one musical toy that has stirred up commotion and praise is the Learn and Groove Musical Table by LeapFrog. This table for infants and tots from six months to three years is a bilingual learning table that teaches children the alphabet, counting from one to ten, colors, and first words in both English and Spanish.
