The Advantages Of Baby Socks

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

Taking home a new born child can be an exciting experience for the family, especially the parents. There will be a new addition to family, which brings both joy and to some extent minor challenges. Apart from the joy and happiness that an infant brings, parents may contend with decisions of buying essential clothing and footwear like baby socks.

An important thing to consider when purchasing baby clothing and foot wear is that the accessories purchased must contribute to the temperature regulation of the baby’s body and their development. Both the baby’s clothing and footwear are important in ensuring that the baby remains warm and comfy.

Reward One – Regulates their body temperature. Baby booties or shoes have proven to be very ineffective in regulating a baby’s temperature. On the other hand, studies have proven that socks for babies are extremely effective in helping baby’s effectively regulate their body temperatures.

In purchasing socks for a baby, one should take special care and attention to the size and length of the socks. This is because if socks do not fit properly, it can be hazardous to the infant. In turn, the perfect purchase of socks for a baby is at least an inch longer than their toes.

The Wide Variety Of Hornby Train Sets

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

If you’re searching for the ideal gift for a young boy then the option of a train set is always a good idea to think about. It’s an absolute classic gift for boys and it will be very well received. Ask any grown man if he can remember getting his first train set and you’ll see exactly what I mean.

In days gone by, young boys often dreamed of being train drivers when they grew up. Things may be slightly different today, but there is still a certain magic about trains. They seem to have an enduring appeal which endears them to us even although other forms of transport are more widely used today. Whether you have a notion for the glory days of steam or, if you prefer more modern rolling stock, you can rest assured that your needs will be met.

Probably the best known model railway manufacturer is Hornby Trains. One of the good things about the Hornby range is that it is standardised. The now famous oo gauge system means that you can start off with a fairly basic train set and then gradually add to it and expand over a period of time. So, if you do decide to give a Hornby train set as a gift, then the lucky recipient could add more track, more trains and a whole variety of accessories over time.

Clone Trooper Voice Changer Helmet – Battle Stations Soldier !

Friday, December 11th, 2009

Most people have heard about Star Wars in some way. It’s been going since George Lucas put out the first (err…fourth chronologically speaking) movie in 1977. That’s 32 years ago ! And the stories seem to be getting more and more embellished as new movies, TV series, games and books get released each year. I wonder who makes up all these stories and whether they have to be sanctioned by Lucas before hand.

All that can be said is that the creators of Star Wars have a very good imagination. A relatively new piece of merchandise that accompanies the Star Wars tales is the Clone Trooper Voice changer helmet. This is really made for kids to role play their favorite scenes from the Star Wars movies or Clone Wars TV series. Or they can create their own adventures.

The clone trooper helmet is a good replica of the helmets used by clone troopers in the Star Wars movies and the TV series that focused on the Clone wars as their central theme.

Drex Interactive Dinosaur And His Two Buddies, Pleo And Kota

Monday, December 7th, 2009

All kids seem to go through a dinosaurs phase at some point in their childhood. I’m not sure what the exact fascination is but I can guess that these weird looking creatures just get into their imagination and they want to learn everything they can about them. For children that prefer a more hands on experience, then an interactive dinosaur toy might be the ticket. Having a robotic pet is a huge craze this Christmas, so why not be original and go for a robotic dinopet instead of a hamster, cat, dog or parrot ? This article will describe three such “pets” and to whom they might suit.

The first interactive dinosaur toy goes by the name of D-Rex. He is a Tyrannosaurus Rex the king of all dinosaurs, even though he only lived in one period of the Dinosaur years and much of the information we have is speculation. I would suggest that D-Rex as a fun toy for kids 6 and up. Adults will probably get a kick out of him too (or maybe that should be a bite).

Eyeclops Night Vision Gear – Kids Love To Play In The Dark With Night Vision Goggles

Saturday, December 5th, 2009

Once kids lose their fear of the dark, it seems they can’t get enough of playing out late at night, playing games like hide and seek or other such games. It must seem like a whole new world to discover to new eyes, and in reality it is. All kinds of critters venture out at night when the world is in darkness and do quirky (like tipping the garbage over !). However the main drawback of playing at night and in the dark is that the eyes aren’t up to it. We have very limited vision in the dark, which obviously hinders night time play quite dramatically. Well now that could all be a thing of the past with the new Stealth goggles and binoculars.

Stealth goggles, referred to as version 1 and stealth binoculars, known as version 2 go by the name EyeClops Night Vision Infrared Stealth Goggles and are made by Jakks. They are designed for kids 8 years and over for the purpose of playing various games at night.

They use the same technology as the proper night vision gear you might expect the military to use – namely infrared frequency light to illuminate the night. This produces a fairly good picture of what is going on around you, in green or black and white images.

Zhu Zhu Pets – Take A Hamster Home today ?

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

There have been many toy crazes over the last few years, all of them seemingly a little more complex than the last. The reason for this is that technology itself is growing at such an incredible rate that toys these days are just getting more realistic and cool to have. This year is no different with the introduction of Zhu Zhu Pets.

These little guys are made to look like real hamsters, so that children can have a closely simulated experience to owning a real pet. This is leaps and bounds past toy pets of even a year or so ago by incorporating real hamster like motion and activity without the need to actually take care of one or the risk losing a cherished pet.

But is the Zhu Zhu pet hamster worth the hype? Surely one could see the pros in getting a pet of sorts for your little one that never soils the carpet or requires any real maintenance. But many are concerned that with a toy like this, it is actually neglecting to teach children the full responsibility called for in caring for an animal. The children cannot make a real connection with it so it doesn’t help develop a sense of responsibility.

How Do You Choose the Finest Christmas Toys?

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

When you are looking for the ” Finest Christmas Toys ” you need to do a bit of homework. Here are the steps…

1) Remember that toy you used to love to play with, or longed to own? Well, as time has passed, it’s very likely that this toy has lost it’s popularity. In this internet age a whole new era of entertainment (and toys) has emerged. Yes, what you used to love may no longer interest a child of today.

2) Consider the Child’s Gender – Some toys are fun to play with for either a boy or a girl. Some of these toys are: board games, puzzles, and arts and crafts. It’s not very common for a boy to play with a pink dollhouse, right? Similarly, a lot of girls do not enjoy playing with army soldiers and tanks. We need to keep in mind that preferences do exist between the genders, and we need to take this into consideration as we are picking out toys.

Coming Soon… Math Comic Strips Flagship Item: “The Innovative Dr. Knowledge”

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Our web site of math comic strips was developed for one primary reason…to offer a way to help teach math to our nation’s children. In this fast-paced world of television, video games and other distractions, we knew that this would prove to be a formidable challenge. Math is complicated and boring to too many children, and well, too much like “work”. We realized that we would need a way to make learning math exciting and fun.

The format of a comic book is ideal for a number of reasons. To begin, comics have stood the test of time. Long before there was a 24 hour cartoon network there was the humble comic. Children would be huddled under their blankets late at night, comic book and flashlight in hand. Comics are a very visual learning tool, portable, requiring no attachments or electricity, or strange as it may sound, even an internet connection.
